Best Thread for Sewing TQs and UQs

I was planning to sew a karo step top quilt out of Argon 67. I ordered the fabric from Dutchware. It looks and feels lovely and soft. Was going to stuff it with down from an old comforter where the down had shifted out of place, but when I felt the fabric I had second thoughts. So I caved and ordered a pound of 850 fill grey WP down from here. Used the 10% off coupon. Maybe I'll use the comforter down for an UQ.
What do you find is the best thread for sewing quilts? Heavyweight threads seem appropriate for hammocks and straps, but they seem a bit like overkill for a quilt that won't see nearly the stress on seams, etc.

Bottom line: 100% polyester for outdoor gear.
Beyond that choose a weight appropriate for your material. No sense in using heavy duty thread for ultra-lightweight material. If in doubt, bring the material down to your local fabric store and ask them what would be best.
    Happy DIY!

The Gutterman Sew-All and Mettler Metrosene Plus (both poly) would work well
and are usually pretty available. Also, good choice on the down.We have ordered that
in the past and I just ordered a pound today. It's really nice stuff at a good price.

Yes, astrix, it was your post that caused me to make the impulse purchase. And thanks all for your replies.

Both of these threads would be great choices. Some very casual (read as quick and dirty) break testing I did indicated the Metrosene Plus was about 30% stronger. I would not hesitate to use either of these.

It's at the bottom of the page. They send the discount code to you when you sign up for their newsletter.

Another option is Gutermann Tera 80. It should work well with a 70/10 needle and be plenty strong and durable. My last set of quilts I used Mara 70, and I use it for everything else. It's probably overkill for quilts and maybe a little undersized for straps, but when we just have one my wife doesn't get confused with which bobbin is which.
