    Saco River Maine Kayak Trip

Figured I'd start the trip report a while and ill post pics shortly.

What an AWESOME trip! Had a few hickups that almoat ruined it. First off pretbek and I couldn't camp at friday nights spot we initially planned. So we shelled out a couple bucks and got a nice site with a leanto. Which worked out great since it rained.
Woke up Saturday morning to a down pour which cleared up by mid morning. We were expecting rain all weekend anyway. The rain was so hard the water level rose about 3 feet over night. When gastar showed up he said he was told by a game warden that we'd be putting our lives in danger if we went out on the water, pretbek's kayak rental was canceled because of the water level as well.
We decided to go for the trip anyway and thanks to attroll for letting pretbek borrow a kayak and also for shuttling all of us around.
Once we headed down the river the sun came out and soon you couldnt see a cloud in the sky. Couldnt have asked for a better day!!
We made it most of the day and then I think we started getting a little careless. I got caught on an over hanging tree and in the water I went (Atrane = Flip). No big deal just got a little wet and pretbek saved my new HF hat! 15 minutes later gastar went over and pretbek saved his HF hat too (gastar = Flop)(pretbek = hat saver).
We set up camp on shore for the night and dingbat (aka Kitchen Sink) hooked us up with a great dinner AND breakfast the next morning!

I cant say it enough how awesome this weekend was. I had an amazing time and cant wait to do it again!

Huge thanks to attroll and his girlfriend for all the help and thanks to dingbat, pretbek, and gastar for the company and great time!

    Fantastic! Pictures?

Loved living in Maine a couple of years. Kayaks are awesome, eh?

We are so jealous. We canceled because it was suppose to rain all weekend. But we were glad that we could help shuttle and that the weekend turned out great for everyone. Here are a few pictures of the launch at Swan Falls. I am looking forwards to seeing the trip pictures and from the group and maybe from the GoPro camera that was with the group.

Ya'll sure have me itching to get back up to Maine. Looks like sometime in July for me.

Wow! Great report and after paddling a little this weekend myself along with attroll's boat-porn pics, I really wanna get me a kayak. Looks like a beautiful area and a good time (despite the tipping) was had by all.

Tipping over wasn't bad (atleast mine wasn't). It was quite refreshing on the hot day! And thanks to Hat-Saver (aka pretbek) i didn't lose anything.

attroll thanks for the pics! Mine should be posted this afternoon or tonight. A lot of them turned out great.
