Lurker turned hammocker from Southern NJ

    Hey everyone!

The name is Jason and I'm from South Jersey.

Been lurking for a while and have been curious about the whole hammock camping idea for a while, but just recently took the plunge and bought a Warbonnet Blackbird and Superfly after doing extensive research on this site, among others. Been backpacking and ground sleeping for years, and for the longest time I couldn't believe that a hammock could really be that much comfortable. It IS!

I am new to a lot of the hammock specific stuff, however I am eager to learn and fairly handy. Also been making alcohol stoves for awhile as well, and take pride in making and doing things myself. My next hammock and tarp will definitely be a DIY. I wanted to start with something quality that I can get out and use right away, and learn the basics to figure out what I like; I plan to use that knowledge to create DIY projects that will build upon those lessons and make something that hopefully will make hammocking more enjoyable for me, and the community as well.

I'll probably still be doing a lot of lurking. I mostly read the stickies and the suspension threads. Fascinating stuff! There is a PLETHORA of information to be had on this site, and from what I've read and seen, the community is absolutely fantastic. I hope to get out to a couple community hangs this year.

Anyway, hopefully I'll see some of you guys hanging around soon.

    - Jason

Welcome from the Jersey Shore. We have a fairly active group of Jersey hangers so you have plenty of opportunities to get out to a group hang. That's gonna really accelerate the learning curve!

    Welcome aboard, from Central Jersey!

Us Jersey hangers are a fairly friendly bunch. If you have questions, post 'em, or shoot any of us a PM.
