Made a few whoopie slings now including an adjustable ridge line. Each time I make one I find my self coming back here for a refresher or reference on measurements. Thanks.

These are very simple to make if you follow the directions. You can use some stiff wire or use a guitar string doubled over to make a fish-tape instead of using the needle, but other than that, this is the same method I used.

I used these the very first time I hung my hammock and it took less than 5 minutes, start to finish.

    Need advise

Hi all, I'm new here and to hammock camping in general. I have a DD travel hammock, and I tried using woopie slings in place of the webbing it came with, but using the woopie slings seems to make the hammock more constrictive. Is there anyway to stop that?

I cannot imagine how the Whoopie sling could affect that. Constriction is usually caused by stringing the hammock too tightly, regardless of the suspension material. Perhaps your straps are longer than your Whoopies, and the problem lies with the length, not the material.

Mad777, thank you! I tried out the whooping slings again adjusting the tightness of the hang, and it made a world of difference. I feel a little foolish that it was such a simple fix, but again I'm very new to this. Thanks again.

I use whoopie slings of amsteel on my suspension and love them. Very easy to adjust.

Awesome instructions! Thanks. Now my question is does anyone know of an armband with either a taut line hitch or whoopie sling so you can adjust when your hammock is fully loaded and heavy? I mean something you attach to your arm and the biner on the hammock end that you're trying to adjust the whoopie sling? Thanks!
