Swoosh... You still need huggers with the whoopie sling. The sling simply makes adjustments between your huggers and your hammock a breeze. And generally lighter.

I did a video on whoopie slings and UCRs. Even has a cameo appearance by shug. No rapping though

It ought to help you get your head around those slings.

I moved from biners and cinch buckles to dutch clips and slings, and am I ever pleased. Lightened and simplified my effort tremendously. Now I am curious about the whole continual ridge line thing. Thanks Opie for the slings and thanks Grizz for your vids explaining the marlin spike hitch, etc. I am hanging this weekend in the woods with it. Have hung on the front porch and I can tell it is going to be a huge improvement. Eliminated 4 biners, and two cinch buckles.

    You're quite welcome!

Hopefully I'll be able to get some TRL options up on my site this weekend.

These have interested me enough to make a set. I have 25' of amsteel on order from AHE and I have a friend of my dad's making a pair of dutch-clip esque clips. I should be more than set for this year's camping needs. Thanks for the easy-to-follow tutorial!

Only 25'? I got enough to do a set for my wife's and my hammocks. I wish I would have gotten more. Whoopieslings are fun to build and I am finding I could use more super-strong small diameter cord for just about everything.
