I like the constriction near the hammock. That's where the adjusting occurs under shelter of the tarp.

I just made my first whoopie sling using these directions and it was easy! It went way smoother than I really expected it would go. Thanks SlowBro!

I have found that having the constrictor close to the hammock makes tensioning the system more difficult than if the constrictor is closer to the anchor point. I had the same thought about being under the tarp while tensioning, but it was quite difficult in my experience to add tension after the line has been under load. After changing the orientation I found the system much easier to operate smoothly.

Anyone else with similar experience?

Not me. You should be able to easily release the compression on the bury and make your adjustments. If you just pull on the loose end, it ain't goin' nowhere.

I got my first set of whoopies last week and I'm sold on how easy set up is. I love these things. I have one question though. After about a dozen set ups I'm starting to see some wear at the adjusting bury. It's almost like the weave is unraveling at both ends on the outside portion of the constrictor. I'm sorry i dont have pics ye, but i can get them if needed. Is this normal? I hope i explained it well enough.

HeathC...this is completely normal and is frequently asked as it is a bit alarming for new whoopie users.

You'll see that that length of loosely woven strands is next to another section where they are very tight.
To reduce snagging, use a small pick to re-balance. The strands slide easily over one another.
Smooth the sleeve over the bury and it will happen a little less.

Well good deal. Thank y'all for the quick reply. I was going to use it until I hit the ground anyways, but as long as it's normal and can be repaired, I can handle that. Again, thank you so much. I can't wait until I get more experience so i can give back.
