I don't have it. Why is the one side static. Are you using the marlin spike hitch and then just doin fine adjustments with the whoopie slin on the other side? Maybe I should reread it but I am thick today.

That 10' includes enough to go around the tree too.

Thanks guys. I've almost got it. I just need to re-re-read the details herein and find some time to play with the splicing itself. It all sounds great so far, and not very difficult to do.

we'll see after I get some experience with it...

But I quite agree that a video could clear a lot of things up. I really did not understand what the splicing boys were talking about until SloBro did his by-the-numbers writeup. Finally I "got it" and could go back to the earlier posts and make sense of them. I'm a visual learner too....

    Help the slow learner....
So this woopie is attached (semi) permanently to the BB...
I still carry something to go around the tree right?
So I carry the tree huggers that came with my BB with the triangles....what
is the way to connect the woopie to the triangles....I'm missing something here I know.

    MedicineMan,
amac posted recently about what he did with his BB. If he doesn't chime in here soon, you might PM him to ask about it. He and I are actually using UCRs, but the connections to the tree and the hammock are essentially the same as for the whoopie sling.

Sorry I can't answer you directly; I'd have to WAG it from pics of the BB.

    Frawg, thanks

I understand what to do to the WBBB...and I think I've got it after going through the entire thread that:
    woopie attaches to BB
but you still carry something to attach to the tree
    and woopie attaches to it....
So I'm thinking around the tree a tree hugger like what comes with a Blackbird but instead of terminating to a triangle it just needs a hook for the adjusting loop of the woopie to hang on....well I am up very very late!

in amac's post here he says he uses a Marlinspike hitch, so the triangle is essentially ignored (unless he passes the other end of the webbing through it when wrapping the tree). Then gargoyle chimed in to say that instead of a toggle he uses a carbiner....you could replace the triangle with this or just clip it onto the triangle...and then the loop from the whoopie sling or UCR clips into the biner.

    that's my WAG anyway!

MedicineMan, for my setup, I have a 5' long 1" webbing for my tree straps. I tied a loop in one end. The webbing goes around the tree and the running end goes through the loop. Then, make a marlinspike hitch on the webbing that is dangling down the tree.

I'm at work right now, so I can't produce a picture. But if you need, I can probably post one later tonight. regarding all these knots, and loops, and hitches, I get completely lost until I can see a pic or a video.

Guys, TeeDee has a detailed description here (with pics) on how to tie a marlinspike hitch and use it with a tree strap.
