Video: CT: AT - Mohawk Trail Loop Hike

Well, now I've gone and done it. I've put my first backpacking video up on YouTube. It's a bit of a monster at over 90 minutes in all. There really was no choice other than to break it up into 4 segments covering the 4 days.

Don't be afraid to tell me what parts you found insufferably boring, so I know what to leave out in the future. It's the only way I'm going to learn, so don't hold back.

I'm going to attempt to imbed the 4 videos, but I've always found that the viewing experience is better if you go to the actual YouTube page to view, rather than viewing as an imbeded video:

That obviously didn't work as expected.

If you're interested, you can get to the videos using the Media Library section while I work on figuring out how to do this properly.

I guess using that 'YouTube' button was not the way to go.

TallPaul says to use the filmstrip icon rather than the YouTube icon. Here goes:

That seemed to work. Days 2, 3, and 4 below:

Thanks TallPaul. But really, how old do you need to be to have ever seen a filmstrip?

I could tell you were having a good time out there. Must be nice being semi-retired

Enjoyed hearing your hiking background & how you got back into it.
I went thru the same thing about 2 years ago - previously used to backpack when I lived in Oregon, then didn't do much when I moved to NC.

I'm digging the cuben fiber tarp & the Makers Mark. Makes a bunch of sense to me.

This trail had a bit of everything - race track, Dudley town and a nearby ski run.

    The iPhone worked well.

And finally.. the UltraPod! I mount mine at the same place on my hiking pole.
    Just really love this thing.

Thanks for posting. It looks like you had a nice time. It is always nice to come across a local on the forums. I live in Mansfield Center. Would love to get together and do some short hikes like this with you if you are up for the company. Unfortunately it won't be this season. I am working in China right now until December. This is a big reason why I did not find your videos to be too long. I am starved for any programing I can get in English. So thanks for my days programming. If you don't have one by the time I get home, I have a bushbuddy you are welcome to try.

Nice trail and looked to be a fun outing.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not understanding why you would set your stove down amongst all the dry leaves and ground cover and not clear an area around the stove.
