    Made a bigger Geodesic Dome!

    Album of pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/4fcYN

This one is a 22ft diameter 5/9 3v w/ Kruschke-modified flat base. Stands around 13ft tall. It uses 1" EMT, 165 pieces with 4 different lengths. I needed 85 10ft pieces of the conduit to make it. I think I can get 20-25 hammocks in there - also, a few of my friends seem to love climbing on it.

I did it as part of an art grant for Wakarusa festival - I'll be taking the dome to a small local festival this weekend, and then next weekend will be bringing it to Wakarusa Fest in Arkansas to setup permanently.

That thing looks awesome! And fun to climb!!

Man, I wish Wakarusa would have worked out for me and my lady this summer. I guess I'll have to wait yet another year.

That is amazing! Great craftsmanship and it looks fantastic. I'd just want to wrap it in film and have the sexiest green house / hammock house in the world.

That's so cool! What does it weigh? Are there any lightweight alternatives?

Weight is a little under 500lbs. As a lighter alternative, you could build a 2v dome out of 3/4" conduit that would weigh < 200lbs(http://imgur.com/a/unGXn)
