    Magna fabrics 1.1 coyote

Hello all just recieved my offer from magna fabrics. I ordered there 1.1 coyote ripstop. This stuff seems really thin! I can almost see through it. I guess I really havnt handled 1.1 before. So I may just not be used to its weight. Has anyone else Ordered this? Am I being silly and worrying too much? Ill try to get a decent picture to post as soon as I can. Thanks you! !!

I bought 1.1 from simplylight and it is super thin. It seems to sew well enough as I'm making the tarp but I haven't finished yet.

I've got 3 hammocks to make from it. One might be a DL. And I may attempt a tarp as well. The humanlynx How are you planning on treating your rip stop to be water proof

I ordered 40 yards of last year. Have made several hammocks with it, some singles, some doubles and some a mix of ACU or MARPAT camo. If there is a width difference in the different fabrics I just make the rolled hems wider.

As I weigh 275 I only use the doubles.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

i ordered the 1.1 in coyote from magna i weigh 260 and the double layer holds me just fine, but i also whipped the ends of a piece and was able to go single layer ymmv of course, it might not hold up as well over time.

I've gone through about 30 yards of Dutch Argon SilNylon at 1.06 and you are right material at that weight is thin and almost see through. And from a thread injecting standpoint, man is it slippery!

To make yourself feel better, take a a couple inch wide strip of scrap and TRY to rip. Course I'm going BG Dutch Argon equivalent but I'm sure yours is similar. I've been using that material for everything I don't need to breath.
