Very heavy, cant realistically use a tarp with it, Looks like the footbox would be a moisture trap.

This probably requires it's own tarp. I had to reconfigure my 8.5' x 11' tarp to hang sideways when I used my right-angle hammock, and it wasn't a perfect solution. The pad is probably necessary for structure, just as it was with the Exped Ergo (which actually hangs at a 45° angle). My hammock used a short pad under my legs and had down insulation built into the torso area, so it was lighter, but it required a more complicated suspension to keep it extended. The demo video on the web site confirms these two pieces. It comes with a tarp, which looks to be fairly specialized for the hammock. The perpendicular orientation of the hammock makes even the included tarp seem to have some coverage issues. Also, it does look to need the pad, although it's tough to know for sure.

While I don't think I'll try it, it does seem like it could work for some. I'm also a big fan of the innovative ideas. Good stuff.

Very cool, but $400 is too much. Gonna have to stick with the bridge hammock.

It's a neat idea, but at over 4lbs and a presale price of nearly $400...makes me wonder if it'll ever catch on.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems very nice and well thought. It is very euro.
