At a campout last weekend, I noticed one of my scouts was hanging his hammock from a #4 nite-ize S-biner. I was concerned that it wasn't strong enough, so I swapped him for the biners on my PLUQ (which were my stock ENO ones).
However, I noticed the nite-ize are not as rounded as normal biners, and since I clip it directly to my whoopie, I'm worried about it fraying the line. I don't have a lot of experience with amsteel so I don't know if my concerns are valid.
Should I just ditch the nite-ize and use normal biners or am I worrying about nothing?
