Timberrr and I had a great time visiting our friends to the 'North'. Goat Island is beautiful and the weather cooperated (mostly).
I particularly enjoyed seeing the children having a good time, spotting not one but two deer fleeing when we did a walking tour of the island campsites, a quick kayak trip around the island (thanks Cali for the use of your boat), winning both at cornhole (I'm calling it beginners luck!) and winning the Yet to be Named Contest.
Okay, Timberrr kinda won the contest because he's the one responsible for our rigs and set ups, but the flag will be proudly displayed whenever we camp in the future. I'll try to get a picture of it later.
I'm back home and I still keep thinking "Let's all sing the song for XXX!' Thanks guys for the fun and the fellowship. I expect Timberrr and I will try to make it again next year.
I also came home with a 'to do' list in mind for the preparation of FHV. Poor Lil Ricky could not escape my need to plan while driving home.

It was a wonderful weekend. Lots of food, lots of fun, and lots of socializing. The weather was awesome until Sunday night. We got to swim and kayak, and it was a very relaxing weekend. Sunday night a big storm with lots of rain and too much wind came through and tried to blow us off the island. We held strong and tied down our awnings. We had a bit of a mess to clean up afterwards, but all was well and no one was harmed. I do want to thank 2QZQ for my awesome UQP, as it kept my hammock and quilts dry. The wind was blowing the rain up under our tarps, but my UQP stood up to the mess.
It was great to have our Florida friends come up, and now I am looking forward to the Florida hang in January. I want to thank all who attended and made it such an awesome hang.
Thank you Chickenwing and Muskrat for all your hard work and planning to make the hang a great event for everyone.

I'd post something longer, but right now I'm at working singing the Rubbing Song.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
This is the rubbing song. This is the rubbing song. La la la la!

Yeah that first picture is what l'm talking about! Table full of shrimp! Can't beat that! Sounds like y'all had a great time! But how can you not with the friends you have around here! Waiting for the rest of the pictures!
What a great weekend!!
First of all, thank you to all our new family up north for their hospitality and congeniality. Everyone was as friendly as could be, and that's a great little island y'all have to camp on. Thank you Muskrat for ferrying us over and Chris for ferrying us back. Thank you Chickenwing for use of your yak. Thank you Lil' Ricky for loaning us a tarp after the storm. A special thank you to those who helped secure the 4-Hats Hilton through the worst of the storm. Forgive me for not remembering who all was helping there - I was sort of distracted. And thank you everyone for making us welcome. Most importantly, thank you Chickenwing and Muskrat for putting together such a great little hang 'n feed.
I really hope it's always on Memorial Day weekend so Gumbo and I can participate.
BTW, we spent much of the long ride home discussing how to incorporate your ideas into the Florida Hang. You'll have to come to FHV if you want to see what we came up with.
