Stealth hanging where there are no trees:

If you see a fence for cattle, somewhere there will be a cross fence that meets it at a 90 degree angle. There is a reinforced post at the junction and the first post away from the junction post. You can hang across that small triangle by using those two next-to-the-junction posts. At 155# I've had no trouble with the posts. I do wait until dark to set-up and I tear down as soon as I wake up. The rancher may not know much about hanging.

If hiking in a remote area, and you come to a gate made with barbed wire and a few fence posts, look around for fresh cow pies. If there aren't any, take a chance by hanging across the gap after opening the gate. Set up late, tear down early.
