Howdy folks! I am in the process of assembling my hammock backpacking set from scratch, and yesterday I stumbled on this product by Sea to Summit:

I live in Florida, and most of the camping I will do in the next 6 months or so will be here or in south Georgia, where it stays very hot at night. I was looking into one of these to serve as my top insulation, as I can't sleep without at least something on top of me, but don't want something that adds much heat.
After reading some reviews of this product, I am wondering whether it can serve in place of a bug net. That would save me ~7oz and ~$80. Not a huge deal, but every little bit helps! Does anybody have any experience with this product? The bug situation in Florida is pretty out of control, so I am skeptical, but one of the reviews I read was by somebody who was backpacking through jungles in Cambodia and said he stayed bug free with this and no net.
Any thoughts?
