    WBBB XLC vs ULA Circuit

    HI guys,

I have been going back and forth on which I want to get. At this time I have a WL Night Owl set up. I don’t hike (yet, and am really out of shape 300+ lbs but working at it when not camping). I do car camp and have 2 scheduled so far in the next 2 months.
So if I get the WBBB XLC I will be using it ASAP. The Circuit will be something I work up to. Also, I will be getting both at some point but can’t buy them both now. So what should I get first? That’s the question…

Simple - You already have a hammock. I would get the backpack. That would encourage you on the trail more doing longer hikes and help you lose the weight you want to lose. Chris at ULA will fit you to a pack that fits your size and, with the hipbelt being removable, you can change it out when you lose weight.

i love my circuit!!! you already have a hammy, so i would get a pack next. the pack should be the last thing you buy, so you can get one that fits your weight needs. (if you already have all your stuff you'll know your base weight)

You said you have a hammock but what about all the other things needed for hammock camping while hiking?
Tarp, quilts? How about outdoor clothing, rain gear, proper shoes, etc.
Have everything you need in the cooking area?

    I have:

    Warbonnet Superfly
    Insulation
    HG Phoenix 20°
    Under Quilt protector
    JrB Top Quilt Liner.

As for the hiking gear, not so much.

Hi Pete, It sure sounds like you have the hammock gear covered.
With an XLC you get a bugnet/ optional top cover, a bugnet is something one needs this time of year,
but it won't be anymore comfortable than the Owl. The WL bugnet might be a less expensive option.

ULA packs go up for sale all the time in the forsale section.

Best of luck on your quest.
