Agreed. I think we can discuss this and keep things nice.

My .02 on the subject is that spooning with my wife in the hammock is a good way of getting close.

    Want hammock porn, try google.

    EVERYTHING is google-able.

I'm guessing you've never "done it" in a hammock.
That's ok, there's nothing to be ashamed about, neither have I.
I plan on remedying this predicament soon if everything pans out, especially now that my curiosity is piqued.

I specifically stated in my opening post that I had searched the .net.
You can't put any subject into Google and not get some kind of porn, so it should be obvious that is NOT what I'm looking for.

The fact that there happens to be an actual hammock made just for sex makes it all the more difficult searching.

(**attn Mods/Admin: maybe we need to add another sub-forum? **)

..sheesh, I had to join a friggin' forum just so that I could get some info on this! How embarrassing is that???

And that brings me back to one of the main reasons I decided to do this.
Hopefully others having this very same question can find some answers, "using Google".

I'll continue reading the other posts and respond accordingly.
    Thanks anyway.

Re-reading my opening post leaves me wishing I would have spent a little more time on it.

I had tried to make a second thread on this topic with a better tone to it when I saw that my original thread had been deleted. I'm not looking for explicit pointers on technique, I'm really just wanting some feedback on how practical/comfortable it is. GEAR recommendations are very welcome! As an aside to this topic, I'm also needing some opinions on two people sleeping together. This whole "hanging" thang seems really geared to the soloist.

    Thanks for all the responses!

I like some others on here will just say it does work and can be very fun for both party's often times it a chance to get away from the kids or others around camp. Yes you will giggle a bit yes you both will have to make some things work but yes it is fun and both may or may not enjoy it. Yes there are allot of folks on here who tend to find a different place at the campsite as to not have to listin to someone snoring or others that are still up telling campfire stories.

well the same thing can happen for what you had asked. If that I thought might happen with my girlfriend and I I would most certainly be further away from the crowd.

If you are looking at camping/hiking and you and your partner want to "share the same bed" so to speak I would look into a Clark vertex or some of the other brands out there like the double nest.

Sleeping double like that can also help on the pack weight of both and staying warm.

You're expecting me to fess up in a public forum? No thanks. Not interested in being modded.

Some backpacking forums there are posts that go into extensive details about all kinds of hygiene issues, but nary a post about sex in a tent, either. Just one of those topics people don't seem to want to bring up.

I would think there are several 'adult' groups on yahoogroups and elsewhere that would be more than happy to reply in detail to the original question. Probably more likely to find an ancillary discussion of hammocks there than one on intimacy here.

I would think were there is a will, there is a way.
and if I have learned one thing about working with hammocks...experimentation (and an all important mod ) is alot of fun!

Like I said earlier, it can be fun, but maybe I should tell you that I have a Treklight Double hammock, it is very roomy and rated to hold 400 lbs, I'm not sure I'd try it in some of the smaller hammocks. And as far a sleeping in the same hammock, I haven't tried it, we lounge around in it together a lot, but she got her own to sleep in! I'm sure we could sleep in it together but I don't think I would enjoy it much, I am not a very cuddly type of person, but if you like to cuddle while sleeping you might like it a lot!
Relax, monsters under the hammock are easily distracted by twister-playing squirrels.

I have to wonder about the premise that hammocking is directly mainly at the soloist. The most cursory search for hammocks would turn up such a items as the ENO doublenest and other obviously multiple occupant names. Seems to me the premise would be the equivalent of saying there is no information about intimacy in a ground bivy. Maybe the search needed to be framed differently and the information requested could be clarified.

I must confess animalcontrol's reference to an "all important mod" has me wondering.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I thought that might cause confusion....
just referencing this groups known attraction to modifying gear. You know, "If it doesn't work, change it till it does" attitude.

    no specific mod to report...sorry
