Using a "Traditional" Underquilt with a Bridge Hammock

If you either already own a "traditional" non-bridge specific underquilt and a bridge hammock OR own a gathered end hammock and a bridge hammock and need an underquilt that will work for both OR are looking for a way to purchase or make an underquilt that works for multiple hammock types to save some cash, it is useful to have a method of attaching a non-bridge specific underquilt to a bridge hammock.

Below is a quick video I whipped up to show what I've used for a year or so to keep my non-bridge "traditional" UQs snug and toasty on my Warbonnet Ridge Runner bridge hammock. There's no modifications or alterations to the UQ to make it work with a bridge so you can swap hammocks easily or not permanently alter the UQ for future use/sale.

we have both gathered end and bridge hammocks and i couldn't afford to outfit the whole family w/ hammock specific uq's

until we can afford more uq's this shows me how accommodate

I just pull the suspension tight and then loop it up over the ends of my triangle. I have a 3/4 length from UGQ.

this thread is old but I want to say +1 for the cjayflo method (above) of simply flipping your bridge hammock upside down and pulling the UQ suspension over the ends of the spreader bar attachment lugs. I have a Loco Libre torso length plus 2" UQ (synthetic) Flip it back right side up and you are ready for warm sleep.

Will this put too much pressure on the suspension system of the underquilt? For instance, I have a Greylock 3. I'm a serious side/stomach sleeper and gathered end never totally fit the bill. Ordering a WBRR in the next few days. Back to my point. It seems the suspension on the underquilt would actually be supporting some of my body weight due to it having to accommodate the extra size of the bridge?? Thoughts?
