I'm admitting defeat.
My friend and I decided to build our own tarps and I got some Argon Sil from Dutch planning to follow DIYGearSupply's Winter tarp design. I spent many hours with him just cutting the fabric and then he had hours of help from two others to sew the thing up. While I have no problem making stuff sacks and hammocks with inexpensive material, I do not have the space, tools, or skills to do a quality job on a tarp. Every time I work on gear I am going to the house of one friend or another to borrow their machine. I don't want to be rushed, impose on my friends by monopolizing their living areas, or mess up and waste $60 bucks worth of fabric.
As I said, I'm admitting defeat and at this point I have two 4.5 yard pieces (exactly how I ordered them from Dutch) that I would rather hire a professional to make into a tarp. I contacted Brandon at warbonnet since he makes the wonderful superfly, but he declined. Who else can I contact who will do a professional job if I supply some or all of the materials and compensation for their time?
