    Hello from Spokane WA

    Hi everyone!

I found this site after watching a YouTube video that highlighted the forum. I do enjoy camping very much. Currently the wife and I tent camp. I am building a teardrop trailer so that will change soon. (we aren't getting any younger) My main interest with hammocks has begun because I am looking for something small and light that can be packed into emergency bags for our vehicles. However I am now considering the purchase of a Hennessy system so I can solo camp. I am looking forward to talking with new people and absorbing all the info I can from everyone here.

    Cheers,
    Greg

Hello from the great white north,,,,,,,,actually not too far from you. When you look for your own solo system don't look for the cheap good deal. When you look to buy a car or mattress you don't buy the cheapest thing you can find. Do a bunch of research here and buy quality gear, you won't regret it.

Blackbird is a good hammock. If your going to use a pad under you you should buy the double layer blackbird. If your going to buy an UQ it doesn't matter. If your tall you might want to look at the Blackbird XL. In general the 11' hammocks seem to be a bit more comfortable than the 10'. The webbing suspension is fine as is the superfly tarp. Tadpole tarp from Wilderness Logics gets allot of respect for price size and weight. If your not a light weight hiker/camper then you might want to get a few things from one vendor ,,like warbonnet outdoors. Their quilt are good as well. All of the popular vendors like Warbonnet, Hammock Gear, WL, Jacks r better, Underground quilts,,all make quality stuff. Jacks has sales on periodically and their shipping times are second to none and stuff is always in stock.
