Hey guys!
So I am curious if any of you have done this with your significant other. If so was it comfortable? Are there ways to provide a little extra portable rigidity to improve on the experience?
Cheers,
Greg

Most people that I have read about have done it mostly for short naps. Can't recall reading about anyone that does it regularly for an entire night. My wife and I have napped in my hammock but we couldn't do much longer than that.

Don't let life get in the way of living.
It depends. It is doable, but you have to REALLY like cuddling and/or you have to get a REALLY big hammock
What's the word I am looking for? Spooning?
Well If you come to that group hang you might get to see my set-up (that I am making) which I intend to try and sleep in with my fiance. We are venturing in the same direction, with a larger hammock but haven't tried since one time in the middle of summer where we couldn't even stand touching each other due to the heat.
Clark makes a two person hammock. It looks comfy. Video on company website

This question continues to pop up, usually from newer hangers, and to me it seems as if the asker wants to do this and wants confirmation that it will work. Given the answers that usually are given, there isn't anyone with much experience answering. The best answer is one that you work out yourself, hang the hammock, get your partner and both of you get in. Try to get comfortable, take a nap, get some good rest. If you do this and really enjoy the experience, both of you, then it is doable. On the other hand, if you both agree not to do this ever again the the jury has spoken. Hammocks built for one person function well with one person, if you just HAVE to sleep together then there are hammocks on the market made for two and they work very well, assuming the two are very compatible.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.
It's been done successfully by a small handful of people. But even they suggest it is an unusual situation for the vast majority of people. If you try it and it works.... great. If not then it don't. The size of the hammock is relatively immaterial. You both still roll to the lowest point in the hotdog bun.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

wasn't there a thread somewhere that had someone try to make a sort of double bridge hammock with a center divider?
My wife and I have a "double" Pawley's Island rope hammock in the yard. Yes, we have cuddled and snoozed briefly in it. I would not even say "napped," as it gets uncomfortable too quickly.
Sleep all night double in a hammock? NO way. If your goal is sleep, that's one of those good-sounding theories that don't work in real life.
