    sagging ridgeline??

So I have a wb dl traveler hammock with the stock fixed ridgeline and webbing suspension. I just put an eyelet in my shed so I could hand between my shed and a nearby hickory tree. To my eye I have the suspension angle right but my ridge line is limp, like 2-3 inches sag from what I get when I hang out in the piney woods. I'm a big guy 280 ish. So I wanted the eyelet to go into the framing at tthe top of the wall were it seemed to have the most structure. Any thoughts on why the limp rl. Imo the hammock lay is as good as it ever was. Thanks for your time.

The ridge line guarantees you have enough sag (in other words, that the ends are close enough together). The hang in your shed has more than enough sag. If it's comfortable for you---great!! I make all my ridge lines adjustable with a taut line hitch. I mark with a marker the perfect length. Then, if I need the ridge line tighter after I get in it (to tighten up my bug net and/or more hanging stuff) I shorten it while I'm in it. If I don't need a ridge line, I lengthen it all the way out and let it drop underneath the hammock out of the way. I can even adjust it to make a foot-line to sit sideways. Search Hammock Forums on how to make an adjustable ridge line. Best of luck to you, neighbor!

A sagging ridgeline means you need to shorten your suspensions a little. The RL doesn't need to be super tight, just taut enough to let you know you have the same sag you do in the woods. This will make the hammock height a little higher which you can't compensate for by lower the attachment points because one of your pionts is fixed. In your case, it may only raise the hammock a couple of inches so it's nothing you can't deal with.

Pips is spot on. With my WBBB I like a little extra sag in the SRL. I think it creates a better and more comfortable experience. I too have created adjustable SRL's in my hammocks so I have some versatility. Occasionally I have to hang between really close trees and great distances. The adjustments allow me to fine tune to my situation.
