    Chrysalis Hammock System

has any one here seen or tried out the Chrysalis Hammock System it's a hammock that basically has a tarp more like a rain fly on a tent pulled right around it my one concern it where do you put your back pack it seems like the only way to keep your gear dry here is to put it on the ground in plastic. They claim to have gear storage but i doubt there's enough. Has anyone who has seen this found the same or differently.

With how much it weighs i think there must be a gym locker in it. Seriously if there isn't enough room inside you could just use a pack cover or a garbage bag. I don't think anyone on the forum has bought one yet, at least they didn't admit to it yet. Not even Cannibal.

I did check that out a while ago but discounted it. At 5 lbs 10 oz, it's pretty heavy for a fly and hammock.

my kayak salesman also carries a full line of "trail gear" and eureka sent him this item called a hammock, he gave it to me for a gear report knowing how much i raved about my bb and the comfy level of it
    first impressions
1 to heavy for seriuos backpacking, car camping only, maybe paddling but to large for my taste, take to much space in bulkhead storage
    2. storage is minimal inside hammock not that you need alot "inside"
    3. rain fly was effective but had some leakage, condensation was horrid bad
    4. not a bad lay, much adjustment is needed to find sweet spot, once you make adjustment then you have to readjust the fly to much work.
    5. gave back to my outfitter and told him to start selling hennesy or clark.
    6. nice attempt by a major player in the tent industry, they should research here and start over, make a ok entry level but i believe there is better for less money out there
not the best gear review but its all i could come up with at this time i hope i can answer any questions you may have
i do not remember the question, however i believe beer is the answer

Whoohooo! An actual review! I do give them (Eureka) credit for thinking of hammocks. I don't think it will be very long before they have something more viable in the market.

    Thanks.

i forgot to mention when it is raining the vents they have need to closed which causes the condensation and the water leak i believe, this would not be a "winter hammock" but i do not believe eurecka intended it to be anyway
i do not remember the question, however i believe beer is the answer
