DIY TQ gets a new shell.

I completed my first DIY TQ back in 2011. "Feather leaks" forced the addition of a second outer panel and periodic patching but "All-In" it's held up to three years of active use like a trooper!

Last week I decided to give it a new shell using leftover fabric from other DIY projects. Thread injecting the new shell was the easy part, transferring feathers on the other hand... well let's just say "feather recovery" has been added to my "never again" list! Stuffing a down quilt can be challenging, un-stuffing one can be a nightmare! Happily, the outcome was worth the battle IMO, here's the result.

Very nice! I love the color combo, I wish I was brave enough to work with down.

As always, you're work is outstanding! Are those baffles actually v-shaped or is it just the way the quilt is laid out?

Thanks Zilla! I'm using Argon for my next couple of projects (Another TQ and a Tarp) but I already have the fabric. Right now I'm on the hunt for feathers?

Ya, those little feathers can be a pain but they are great insulators!! I use a tent & shop-vac in my gear room to manage the process.

Yes, the baffles are v-shaped. No functional reason for the change, more of a "Designer" thing really.
