I don't use a pillow in bed at home, but in the hammock always want something under my head. I usually roll up a fleece.

I pack a Goosefeet Gear down pillow that I sleep with sometimes and not others. It is small and light enough that I don't mind carrying it even if I don't use it for a night or two.

I use a small fleece blanket and pull part of it over my head if/when it gets cold

Perfect size to cradle my head. Airs up and down easily and cheap.

I am obviously a pillow fan(thanks for the shout-out WV), not the full size variety but just a little something to fill the space under my neck.
    Good luck,

I can't sleep without a pillow under my head in a hammock. I have found that I will wake up with a crick in my neck if I don't. I use two different pillows. If backpacking I have an inflatable neck pillow, if car camping I have a piece of open cell foam 12"x24" that i folded over 3 times and stuffed in a regular stuff sack. Another option is a lighter weight one, use a rolled up jacket or other peice of clothing not on you when you sleep. I prefer pillows...Its a comfort thing.

Super thin is what I need, more feel than the height. A north face knit cap works great and serves multiple purposes. I can also put some extra clothing in it to puff it up too.

I use therma rest packable pillow, but I took the foam out and refilled with climashield. It was to fat with the foam.

I use the medium Therm-a-Rest camping pillow. Works great for me. It's a little more mushy and not as puffed up as the small ones.
