    It's too addictive

I've read a few of the latest.. you know you have a problem when (DIY Style)
And I have to admit mine has irritated my wife.

Let me first say it wouldn't have happened if I wasn't located in Saskatchewan, Canada.
In the States the shipping to and from is cheaper without crossing the border...
I was debating between a Dream hammock and a WB but with the shipping my wife
said it was more than we had to spend. Even going used most sellers don't want to
    ship across the border.
    Anyway.
Bought an ENO DN and found the forum... figured I could make one better.

Made my 11 ft ripstop nylon hammock.. made another DL, sold it to a friend,
both sons wanted hammocks so ordered an ENO clone off ebay.. decided to order
some tablecloths.. made a few.. son's are set. Daughters liked them.. Stole my
hammock from me for the duration of our last camping trip..

Since then I have made and sold probably 11 tablecloths and have another 8 coming
    in. (kijiji is my friend)
Now have a sweet DL 11 ft ripstop nylon I made and a SL for bombing around.
Made myself a pretty wild bugnet, made 2 more to go with tablecloths that have
sold, made another yesterday for my friend's DL...

    Where does it stop?
Im guessing when my wife tells me enough is enough..
Anyone needing a bugnet in Canada?

Only once did I really pull a stupid. Got home after a super long day and
a previous night's crappy sleep of 3 hours and had to do up a hammock and bugnet.
Do not sew if you are tired or grumpy or... might as well 4x your expected time for completion.

    It's a hobby right?

    Speaking of which... raining today.
Made an amazing 10.5 ft nylon taffeta feel hammock.
A deep forest / spruce tree green... almost a shame to sell it.
    See... I have a problem...

A problem that we all are happy to have. Just tell the wife it could be worse. You could be addicted to all sorts of unhealthy things but, at the end of the day your addiction facilitates something to fiddle with and relax in. The kids love it, friends appreciate it. You couldn't say that if your addiction was collecting yard gnomes. No offense to yard gnome collectors.

Absolutely, if you can get your kids in hammocks, enjoy it, and sell stuff ...

    Don't see problem.

We were talking about this some more. It IS cheaper than fishing gear... Tackle boxes and rods get expensive... Not to mention boat stuff lol. Now who wants a bugnet lol

Camping is a pretty cheap hobby IMO. It's stupid cheap if you are making and of the big 3 gear yourself.

There are so many other hobbies that would eat your cash a lot faster.

It's probably because you love your wife so much that you chose hammocking over a Race Car, Motorcycle, or Boat. And.....you're selling off the stuff you make. There are plenty of us addicted to making this stuff but don't have a means to unload it and break even. You're a step ahead. Your wife should be proud!

Out of all my addictions over the years, hiking/camping/hammocking is probably second cheapest (to running). Even when buying in bulk to save $$ it's nowhere near the cost of things like building cars or playing hockey...
