    Need help deciding witch hammock

Hey guys, after hours on top of hours pouring over reviews and reading forums, I have decided on dream hammocks for my first hammock. now I need to figure out which one. So, I'm asking for your experience /opinions to help me make sure i make the right choice.

I'm 44yrs old, 5'9"tall, 210lbs. I plan on taking at least one 50 mile trip on the AT a year, other than that my trips usually stay around the 10 mile range. I would like to get a good balance between weight and comfort, if that's even possible...

    Thanks..

I'd suggest a 11x60 single layer 1.8 or 1.9 low stretch RoamingGnome with whoopies/tree strap suspension.

This is a Dream Daren but basicly the same feature wise.

I ordered a Thunderbird and it's on it's way to me right now. I liked the versatility that i can have a bugnet or an overcover, or neither. I should be covered no matter what the conditions are with it, and I know I'd wish I had the options if I went with anything less.

would the 11' hammock require a larger tarp ?

    Need help deciding witch hammock

Of course a longer tarp would give more coverage on the ends but a standard 11' tarp will work just fine. The hammock is 11' but the ridge line is 110" on those so it will actually hang at just over 9'.

I'm only 5'8 and find the 11'er extremely more comfortable just my opinion. Yeah it costs a little more and weighs a little more but we'll worth it. I have a 10&11 Tbird and the 10 will be sold or a loner

Side note mine are double layer with no stretch so a single layer with a little give May do the trick. But with UQ I get calf ridge in the 10'er
