Given the trading you have been doing you should have a decent set of gear. Your job now is to spend the next year tripping as much as possible to really get comfortable with it. Once you have really learned what you have you can think about whether or not you really need any changes.... Decisions cannot be made until you really learn your gear... ;-)

    Here's a crazy idea...

    1. Prepare an equipment list, complete with gear weights, for the most ambitious trip you will take in the near future
    2. Trim out all of the superfluous gear
    3. Trim out all of the "just in case of the zombie apocalypse while I'm out there" gear
    4. Check off the items you already have
    5. Check final pack weight
    6. Repeat 2-5 until you're satisfied you've got your pack in order
    7. Prioritize the items you need but don't have
    8. Get outside and enjoy whatcha got, cause someone's likely making do with a whole lot less!!!

Once your self imposed constraints are over, GO NUTS!!

P.S. Bear in mind that this is a classic "Do as I say and not as I do" bit of advice....

P.P.S., For a little extra incentive, take off your automatic subscription to the For Sale forum!!!

P.P.P.S., I've got a nice Estwing Camp Axe that I'm willing to let go for cheap...

I'm not offering to sell you more hammock gear, nor tempting you with upgraded SilNylon sweets.
I won't cause you to stumble like that.

I do, however, have half of a stale, week-old bagel I will sell you.
