Very nice. Every time I go to wallyworld or somewhere else and see child playground equipment, I think of how one could "hang" there. "A" frame swingsets and such. The hand-over-hand bars could be used very easily unmodified.

I seriously hope you, and others designing stands consider patenting these things. It could very easily become profitable in your, or someone else's hands. Good to have your drawings/plans dated of course and all other info as proof of design. (seen designs for items still in development at my workplace, and yet another company was producing a copy. I have no clue how they got the design BEFORE tooling could be finalized. Just thinking theft.

The same way I attach the hammock, just higher on the legs. There is enough length to attach a 12' tarp at head height by stringing a cord between the two legs, then attaching the tarp to the cord.

I can't speak for others, but I design stuff to get it out of my brain. I don't care or want profit from anything I have designed to this point. That is why I post it on a forum such as this.

I hereby waive and relinquish any claims, implied or otherwise, to any designs I have posted to this point; and give free reign to anyone to use any plans, designs or ideas that I have posted to this point that are of my own making, conceived of my own imagination, or are modified versions of any other designs previously posted or listed conceived or altered by my own volition, imagination or ingenuity.

I just want to share with the community. If somebody thinks they can make a buck off of something I've posted - you are welcome to it with no worries of claim by me. I'd like credit for the original design if possible, but that is not a requirement, only a request.

That is refreshing, fin. In a day of lawyers and lawsuits, its nice to hear a real human again.

I'm not trying to be a party-pooper. If I hadn't made a different type to use in my house, and didn't have perfect trees in the backyard, I'd consider that one. Another dumb thought.... tarp the entire thing for a super/ultra/mega tent, or screened in room for picnics and outdoor dining. Bugnet on my hammock? I don' need no stinkin' bugnet! Yup, I'm weird.
