    Other uses for 1.6oz Ripstop

So I've been making hammocks out of this stuff for a while now, and I've got a decent supply of scrap going. Wondering if anyone had found any interesting uses for this stuff. Particularly, does anyone make, say, a shirt, from it? it's really soft, lightweight stuff. I'm starting to wonder if it would work for a parachute or something (not for skydiving, more for near-ground activities)

We have been talking about making shorts out of them, sportsmansguide sells shorts from 70 d ripstop on thier site for $18.99 a pair, 1.6 should make good shirts and shorts imo,, maybe a ultralight backpack?

    Ripstop nylon kilt?

Kilt? Origins date back to the ancient Egyptians but most likely used much earlier than that. A ripstop nylon (or linen or buck skin etc) kilt keeps whatever is under it dryer and allows you to change the undergarments without offending anyone. I think nuttysquirrel posted some very good photos of one he made.
