Considering making a quick tarp and keep finding locally nylon which
is coated. Top is a pattern and bottom is black and feels like slick/coated with something.
Or is this more of a shed water but wont get you through a rain storm

Sounds like polyurethane coated nylon. Can you blow through it? If it is PU it is heavier than Sil but more waterproof, lower cost, and more rugged. Good stuff if you are not worried about weight.

Excellent. That's what I was wondering. Thanks. It is labelled PU coated.
I've got a Guide Gear tarp that's PU coated and it works great! Heavier than sil, but not by much.
