How are the angles on this hang?

This is the first tablecloth hammock hung between a huge oak and the brick side porch pillar on an 80+? year old house. We don't have two trees that will work and didn't want to put weight in it with the straps around the brick pillar. The strap around the tree is a 15' strap, fed through an end loop, attached to a dutchwaregear cinch buckle. We used a zip tie in a 1" channel, then a 12" amsteel continuous loop, double-larks heads around both the end of the hammock under the zip-ties and to the cinch buckles. It is going to a park tomorrow to be hung "for real."

Question is: How are the angles? (I need a hangle!)

This are my first pic uploads too so not sure if you can see the straps or if should have done something different. Suggestions? Tips? All help gratefully accepted. What I most want to know is using the huge tree 2' away and over 13 feet of the strap, does this work with setting the strap on the bricks higher, since there is a lot more strap on that side from the pillar to the hammock. Is there something else I should be asking? Thanks!

Ok, So I can just tie some zing it and tie it across? I've slept in a lot of hammocks but this is my first effort to make one or hang one right. Don't really understand ridgelines yet. The couple I made this for want to use it without a ridge line. Is that possible? Obviously we will have to make a way to hang it.

a RL sets the amount of sag and the hammock body providing a constant flater lay.

How to instructions on RL and H-stand

+1 on RL read sticky DIY threads on it. This is the fastest most direct way to compensate for the problems you may be having but technically for a "Brazilian" or "Mayan" style of hammock a ridgeline is almost never used but the angles are much steeper.
Also consider "Turtlelady" "Turtledog" and other variations of tripod stands made with wood, aluminum or steel pipe.

Sorry I couldn't attach a bunch of links but am mobile in sandals just floating out here.

The long end "looks" good. The short end "looks" a little tight on the angle. For the sake of this picture, I would put the short side 6-8 inches higher and make the strap longer to give a higher angle.

One way to check the angle is to hold your hand open by the strap connection to the hammock. With your fingers pointed towards the hammock and thumb at a 90* angle(straight up). From your index finger to your thumb is ~ 30* angle.

When you get the angle you want and that is most comfortable, note the distance between the hammock ends and make your RL that distance. After you attach the RL, you don't have to worry about repeating the comfort. Just adjust the straps to ~30*. If you don't get the straps right, the RL will keep the hammock at the correct angle every time.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I would also recommend a ridgeline. Just looking at the pictures, the anchor points appear to be too far away and the straps too low for the distance. It will be very difficult to get any kind of proper lay when your suspension length on one side of the hammock is three ft. and the other side six feet plus.

The Hammock Hang calculator can really help you understand the concepts a bit better.
