    Line lock question.

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

I thought I'd be slick and get some line locks3s for my tarp so I could adjust the tie outs easily from under the tarp when it was raining.

So here's the problem ........I just grabbed the 3s and not the other kind.

Is there a way to make these work without actually sewing them to the tie outs?

Which is how they are supposed to be used it seems.

I was thinking about larks heading them or prusiks with shock cord for self tensioners but am not sure if that would work.

    Thanks for any help.

    Yeah, I think that's doable!
I should preface this; I've never used the 3's, but I've been looking around as I'm considering using them in the future.
Anyway, I've seen a couple solutions...
    1: prusik
2: tie the tensioner to line with a simple loop, it may be lopsided, but apparently it is still plenty strong
3: think "line tied to a loop of strap/wide string/fabric going into the tensioner, then line on the other side (if that makes sense)

I think any way will work. Alternatively, linelocs are like 17 cents. Cheers

    Haha...yeah for sure.
    Thanks for the tips.
I just hate having a handful of these things now and not using them.
I'll have to mess around withem and see.
Just wondered if anyone actually had done something similar.

You can buy them with ribbon loops attached that can then be used to larks head to tarp rings/loops. Makes switching them from one setup to another very easy.

I have my line locs with a larkshead using a loop of shockcord and then used a larkshead at the tie out points on the tarp. Gotta say I love how it works. I use zing it for the tie outs and it is very effective, easy and the little give and tension of the shock cord at some level helps protect the tarp. Easy peasy!!
