The low temps will be in the 40s. The mosquitoes are coming out. I'm thinking to leave my bug net home and just keeping my lightweight sock (1.0 ACU very light and breathable). Any thoughts? Also, at what temps do you stop using the sock?

I use my light tyvek sock all year around - 65F has been the warmest night for me so far, but I think I could use it in warmer conditions - maybe up to 72 or 75F.
I have used a DIY HUG bugnet made from a Walmart window curtain shear (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...k-Half-Bug-Net) or the bug net on my Snugpac jungle bag for pest control when needed. A head net with ball hat to keep the net off your face would work as well.
So if you like the sock - bring it along with a small bug net to cover any exposed area.

I was at a familiar spot this weekend--but hanging there for the first time--and think I would have liked a net. I'd never experienced mosquitos like that there and for the first time at this spot, used the "emergency" micro-bottle of Deet; still came home scratchin. It was also warmer than it usually is - Central California, Kings Canyon about 9k'.
With proper insulation, a tarp and bugnet would do. If you don't mind the weight penalty and you're at camp a few days - bring both!
