Will probably be getting in Saturday morning. Going to be hiking with my daughter Monday to Thursday then a group of her friends are going to meet us in Hot Springs on Friday so they can hike over the weekend . I feel that I need to go with them one night because none of them has a lot experience. If they make it Thursday night, then it will be Friday. In other words, I'll be there when I get there, But me and the 8 pounds of beans will make it for Saturday dinner.

I'm planning to get there Thurs noon or a little later.
Another hammocker, Davy Ray, will be coming along too, as well as my two dogs.

I don't suppose you would want me to throw the 20' x 30' tarp in the truck, just in case?
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Cool Directions for the Perpetually Lost

    Good evening, all

I tried to update my version of "Directions For The Perpetually Lost" from last year; however, the forum controls weren't being the most helpful and I lost patience with the task. So, I am simply pasting a link below for everyone

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...=1#post1044525

Here's hoping that the park has addressed the issues with the log bridges from last year.

Oh yes, I bought stuff for brownie makings this evening.

Oh yes, almost forgot to ask. Is there a gate leading into the park somewhere that closes off car access or am I thinking of a different location? If there is a gate limiting access, what time does the gate close.

Hiked the cat gap a couple months ago. They have indeed done some work on the log bridges. New railing on one and they tightened the wire handrail on the other

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

Them instructions were great for us last year being our first time at John Rock. Thanks for adding the instructions again. Great on the brownies.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

I sure couldn't make any guarantees but I suspect because of the Fish Hatchery & the mini museum, that the Rangers keep a pretty good eye & security system on this parking area.

I was going to ask if the trail to the site from the parking lot was mountain-bike-able. I'm not so sure I want to ride those bridges...

Thanks for posting the directions! Planning on arriving Saturday morning, time depends on when I can pull myself out of bed.
