Great trip reports. Keep them coming and more pics please.

I love camping in the rain, had a downpour a few months back for the Sherpa Hang in Florida.

Good to see Leo out in the woods unwinding. Leo's are people, too. Love that. From a Florida bondsman.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

The A-C 5-0 are definite converts, they had a blast! You forgot another lauremedius first! First fishing cast ever, caught a pickerel! I'll leave the naming conventions to the jerseyites...

It was late Friday afternoon and had just finished sewing my last bug net. Grabbed some firewood and headed to camp. Being as late as it was, figured I'd drop by Nixon's General Store in Tabernacle to grab a Big Piney sandwich. Walked in the store and ran into Pilsburythrowboy, Lauremideus and Wilson. We said our hellos, started talking hammocks and it wasn't long before Jack, the owner, had to ask who we were and what we were up to. Thirty minutes of hammock camping talked followed and ended with Jack handing us his business card and asking for an email explaining all about hammocking and our regular gatherings in the Pines.

Once in camp, it was clear another gully washer had dumped in the area. Humidity and temps were high as the mosquitos buzzed around but that did not dampen the traditional greetings of folks happy to be outside under any circumstance. The friendly socializing continued well into the dark time hours that saw a few late arrivals. Can't say enough about what good natured folks attend these gatherings as Natureboy68 and John4 must have taken 2 hours to unload and setup as we were all talking their ears off the whole time. As has been mentioned, the group grew a little larger that evening and the night hike crew did their thing. Night hikes always generate a good story and this one was no exception.

The campfire burned past 3AM when I had finally sought out the solace offered by my hammock. Temps dipped into the mid 60's Friday night and we awoke to a beautiful day Saturday with humidity down significantly and temps moderate in the mid 70's. The sky was blue and camp came to life with more arrivals throughout the day.

A few of the more memorable moments, the swamp crew getting out there, Lauremideus aka "Cotton", standing on the edge of the swamp, asking "Do you need a hand?" 'Yes' was heard in the distance, and the question repeated "Do you need a hand?" 'Sure' and I watched as he stepped into the swamp, nice sneakers, never more to be white shorts and the gamer that he is, Cotton slugged off into the distance that was hummocks and fallen cedars. The echo of the littlest Aircoder yelling "No, No!" as Mrs Aircoder made her umpteenth trek across the camp with little one under her arm. Rolling out with SilentOrpheus to gather more firewood from Mighty Joes'. Stopping by the bridge on Caranza and telling Pilsburythrowboy, "Nah, there are no fish in there" just as Cotton hooks and lands his first fish ever! The chaos that was the group cooking, sorting itself out nicely as meal after meal rolled off the prep table and onto the grill or into a dutch oven. The ultimate sharps geek talk around the campfire later that night which bordered on lust or knife porn. P47Chowhound sprinting in Aircoder's direction moments after I mentioned something about antique razor restoration. (does it get more eclectic than that?)

Sunday morning breakfast had us whispering "biscuits" as we fulfilled the letter of our obligation to let others know NJRedneck's sausage, gravy and biscuits were ready. The weekend came to a close all too soon, really seemed to fly by this time. Folks packed up, said their goodbyes, camp sweep was performed with JShep and crew closing the camp for the weekend.

All in all another great outing, a chance to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, meet the families that support this craziness that is our hobby, getting outdoors to enjoy what turned out to be fantastic weather for a weekend in the Pine Barrens. Not to mention all the chances to examine more gear, dissect tarp construction and file away details for the next diy project.

Special thanks to all for warm welcome you all extended my brother in law and nephews. The kids had a blast, my brother in law is now determined to make it out again, diy his tarp with some OES features and cook something special for the next gathering.

Oh yeah, and JShep, I have a tow kit for you, never go mudding in the Pines without one. We could have unstuck that Sub in a jiffy, all I would need would be GPS coordinates or approx location. Always rolling with tow straps, hi lift, come-along and hooks. Would have been an excellent chance to test some super long amsteel dogbones.

As usual I had a great time with you all. Pleasure to meet new friends and see old. Thanks to all for pitching in. Ratdog, you nephews are the best, pleasure to meet and talk to them. Lauremideus, as the oldest hanger there I had a claim on "Jay" and gave you the option of "Jay2" or "Bill" I here by remove that option in favor of your new trail name "Cotton" Again a real pleasure to spend time with ALL. Looking forward to the next hang.

And I was too busy eating so I missed pictures of sliders, beef to die for! and probably more food. Plus, for breakfast we had sausage gravy, fresh baked biscuits, wraps, eggs, grilled bacon....the way it should be, right Silvr Surfr?

And don't forget the samples of refreshing beverages we shared! Again, what more can I say...it was great!

And here are shots of swamp walking and Batona Camp. Special thanks again to NJ redneck for starting this whole dang thing!

Thanks to Silvr for the entertainment (along with Silent O singing on the night hike day two), Ratdog and Silent O for showing us the virtues of wearing kilts, Cotton for his constant childlike happiness...he is so darn happy. Chris and Throwboy for showing us how to build an outdoor shower, and Natureboy for showing me his bath scrunchy DIY as a snake skin...I bought one at Target for $2.00.

Thanks to Chowhound, Nature boy, and John for giving advice to my son. He now knows teachers are people too!
