I'd have to measure, 4' or so, maybe 54." Could be any size though I'd expect..
I have a stack of these poles out back, so I just cut one down to size, so I don't have any of the smaller diameter ends of the pipe.

Can you take a picture of the connectivity between the pipes and the attachment point for the hammock? I'm having trouble visualizing what you're describing.

See post #16 in this thread, I put some pics up at lunch time.
Each of the "hubs" is made from 2 of these: , one side is pounded flat, and a hole drilled in the center for the eyelet bolt.

All the pool noodle chunks and suspension stuff made it a little hard for me to make out how the hubs were built. This new connector picture helps. So let's see if I'm getting warmer. The pounded flat side is perpendicular to the hammock, so one flat face is in the "front" nearest the hammock and the other in the "back", and the eyelet bolt is centered and faces toward the hammock end? Wouldn't that make the pipes slightly askew at different angles? Clearly the thing is sturdy anyway.

yea, sorry, the pics are rough. i don't want to tear off the foam now though..
you got it. just slightly askew.. the legs are pretty much spread wide enough though that the two flats of the couplers line up nice and flush.
