    Thanks all for the feedback.

I have stuck with my Cooke tarp and it has worked well so far.

My favorite is the 10x12 that is a darker green (love that sleath effect) ... a bit heavier but creates a large covered area when spread out more .. or a really well covered winter "hut".

While the picture below is a bit off the ground ... in winter I'd have it almost touching the ground. Plenty of room inside with my hammock and now that I've got the 2QZQ Mod installed ... can't wait for my next winter camping trip.

    Hawkeye,

Nice set up, especially your 2nd tarp... I really like the ability to close the ends.

Where did you get that rig? I found your 1st tarp on Campmor's site but haven't found the second tarp.

It's nothing special ... it's just the 10x12 tarp with the outer corners tucked back and tied together. I've added a couple tie off's so you can close it up more ... but no additional panels needed to make it an enclosed tent.

Cool!!! I think you just saved me a few hundred bucks...

I know what my next project is... I know what I'll be playing with this winter. I think I'll sew some velcro on the ends to close it up nice & tight, maybe a few tie out tabs/loops in the middle of the walls too...

It can close up with the existing ties and the two I've added just fine ... actually you probably don't want it completely sealed ... I've never had an issue with it.

Anyway ... keep an eye on Campmor ... some times they go on sale!
