Got a 100' of it the other day. So far I've made a set of whoopies, continuous loops and soft shackles. Still have a bunch left over. What to make next? I could make another set of whoopie for my buddy.

Might be overkill, but how about a bear bagging rope? I have also made small locked brummels to wrap around a tree. This way my backpack never rests on the ground.

Make a couple of dog bones in different lengths. They are very handy and not difficult to make. I use them on my hammocks instead of continuous loops, as suspension extenders, run them through the gathered ends to hang stuff (although I use Lash-It dog bones for that - Amsteel is overkill) - and I'm sure there are 100s of other uses.

It really is great stuff...and fun to work with. I got a hundred feet from Seattle Marine (the 7/64s is .15 cents a foot!!!) and went to town. I even made a little Whoopie Sling just to sit and fidget with while watching television. The stuff even feels cool!

Splice one soft shackle then walk away. Do NOT, do this over and over until you've mastered the perfect Diamond/ Lanyard knot. Do NOT buy spools of 2.2mm Zing-it to challenge yourself at splicing smaller cord. So what if 2.2mm soft shackles are infinitely useful and cool. I urge you, please never buy ever smaller knitting needles and splice continuous loops out of 1.75mm lash-it just because you can. So what if ALL the cool kids are doing it. Yes, some of the cool kids are experimenting with DYNAGLIDE but, do NOT experiment with splicing DYNAGLIDE.

uumm....I mean...you could try to splice some Soft Shackles.

Bear bag rope seem like a waste. Im liking the idea of keeping the pack off the ground. How would I go about it.

I use a dogbone and micro-biners to hang a pack. It's just a length of rope with an eye splice in both ends and can be used to extend your suspension if needed.

I usually have a biner on both ends...
