Dang it. Using YouTube Video Manager to edit and it always sets it to private till you publish. I think it's good to go now.

SilvrSurfr with SnakeSkins? Perish the thought! I've listened to too many SS diatribes around the campfire on how he bought a cuben tarp to drop weight, and why would he want to add weight back by using them and that his velcro ties work perfectly, and he'll never buy snake skins, to believe he'd ever convince himself to buy any.

Yep, guilty as charged. I guess ya gotta try something before you have an actual "educated" opinion. I freaking love these things, and I'll bet they weigh less than the velcro straps I was using.

By the way, verbatim plagiarizing of my posts is a serious offense. Further plagiarizing and I'll have to report you to a mod.

Skins are very handy. I used them on my spinnaker tarp. But, like SS said, I bought the tarp to save weight. So, I use 4 vecro electrical ties, about 6" long and 1/4" wide to bundle the tarp roll.

Did you pop them on the scale SS? What do they weigh in at?

Nice. My skins are mesh but in my opinion snakeskins are terrific.
    My tarps love them.

It seems to me that this would be an instance where mesh would actually be better than cuben. It is still super light, but wouldn't the mesh allow for faster drying of the tarp?

Not really. Maybe what is exposed to the mesh. I use mesh skins on tarp and sometimes sil-nylon skins on hammock
