    12' hammock; ridgeline; zing-it

I used Derek Hansen's calculator to hang my 143" gathered end hammock to points 17.5' apart & 79" above ground. The ends of my ridgeline deficient hammock hang about 136" apart.

I want to use some zing-it for a temporary structural ridgeline to ~83% of the hammock length. I find comfort with the 136" separation OK, but as a hanging neophyte I hope to find that magic number that will open doors to hammock nirvana. What knots do you advise so that I can avoid cutting the zing-it to save for other applications?

    Is the zing it splice-able?

    Thanks
    Jeff

Yes, Zing-it can be spliced and SHOULD be spliced to maintain the strength of the line. If you want an adjustable ridgeline to try out different lengths, make a whoopie sling or UCR ridgeline.

Oh, buy the full 180' spool of Zing-it. Once you start splicng, you won't stop! I'm about to order my 3rd spool.
