Often I will unhook one mitten hook and clip it to the line but I like having this option as well.
glad you found something to help you out

lol......was wondering how long it would take for this comment to rear up have thought about changing it so everything is nice and clean and spliced but this seems to work just fine and having a hard time finding the motivation to actually do it

Love the ridge line idea, I'll be doing that and the tyvek idea. I need something to sit on. Tore a small hole in a brand new pair of North Face hiking pants the other day sitting on a rock.

Really really basic, but I just made my first set of tree straps and decided to add an elastic loop to them to keep them tidy. I'm sure someone else has already done it but I figured it would go in this thread. Hope the pictures work, I'm new here. Red thread because as many a sew-er knows, some black thread has a tendency to break more often.

Edited to include pegs my teen made for me. He cut, drilled, filled and textured them and I attached them to the end of the straps so we don't loose them. He is proud of the job he did and wanted me to show them off.

always seems to happen the first time out when you tear a hole in something

That stake wrap is great! I want to make a bigger one for my tent poles. Oops, busted. I still have a ground dwelling setup.

I believe you meant to say that it'd be for the tarp poles: pole mod!
It's a good idea actually, especially if you wanted to use the wrap as an under hammock ground cloth for shoes or standing on, etc.
