Best diy way to suspend bug netting?

So I am following Xtrekker's hammock design but I am not sure if I want to use a permanent ridgeline or not. The reason being is when the bug netting is pulled back the line remains creating an obstruction when using the hammock for sitting. My idea is to sew in 3 small gross grain tabs in the tarp and along the top edge of the bug net. Then make small 1/8" elastic cords to clip between the two supporting the bug net. Any thoughts on this?

you can split your rl and slice loops in each end, then clip em together with one of these: http://dutchwaregear.com/dutch-ridgeline-biners.html when you dont want a ridgeline just unclip one end.

Mind you this is for a bridge but I wanted a really high 'off the face' bug net so I put triangles in at each end that matched the set up width of the hammock ends then because I wanted a place to hang things from I sewed a ridgeline into the seam at the top of the triangles. I also put a D ring on the outside of the bug net which was overkill, a piece of grosgrain would have worked as well. I use a foot of shock cord in a loop larksheaded to the ring at the top of the suspension triangle and run cord from it up through a retainer loop on the underside of my tarp and then down to the D ring.

Ha, found a pic that shows it! Trying to describe made me confused...

Are you talking about using the tarp to pull up and support the bugnet? If you choose to go tarpless you'll need another method. My switchback has shock cord from the bugnet to the trees for support.

I've made my ridgeline detachable using the soft shackle concepts so there is no hardware. I like having a ridgeline for the consistent sag as well as allowing me to hang with less than ideal tree distances.
