I came up with this idea after watching a Derek Hansen video about using rubber bands to attach a smart phone to a ridge line. This may not be original to me but I haven't seen it any where. (I haven't really looked either) Elastic is just cheep flat elastic ribbon from fabric store. I tied an overhand knot to make a loop and larks headed the wooden dowels in the elastic, then larks headed that onto ridge line (you could substitute small twigs found on site as well). I can attach a normal ridge line organizer by putting toggles through loops sewn into the organizer. My main use is to wrap around my hammock during the day so the hammock does not become a sail if the wind picks up. Kind of like a skinless snake skin The weight shown is for 5 toggles but I only show three attached to the ridge line.
