"Those eggs where a lie Steven!" - first time working with silnylon

I am new here and would like to say thank you for all the DIY info posted! I have just finished sewing 12' of French/flat-felled ridgeline. I'm curious why no one has said silnylon was hard to work with?
All in all it hasn't been bad, and I think I've saved about $6.50 in building a 12' hex with doors.
    Thanks!

We're so good it's easy to work with....I wish.

It's been mentioned MANY times. You just haven't dug deep enough into HF yet.

    Welcome to HF.

1.1oz IS hard to work with... The rest? Not TOO bad. Nylon in general is some slick business, some worse than others. Get used to it! The DIY bug bites HARD!

My first comment may have had some sarcasm involved! I knew it was going to be a little tricky to work with.
@Boston- really no difficulty other than the super-slick nature of the fabric. I did get a little carried away and sewed about 10" of extra fabric into the seam before I realized it. Picked it out and resewed. Btw should I just use seam sealer on those needle holes? I'll post pics as it's completed.
@skeetrock- I've always had the DIY bug, used to work for Ultimate Direction (they make hydration packs for ultra-runners). My next project is an underquilt, wish me luck!

Yep, seam sealed will plug up those extra holes.
Don't ask me how I know!

I did that a few times on my early tarps. I used undiluted GE Silicone II (clear). Rub the holes with your fingers to close up the fiber's, it'll make them less noticeable. I then put a small dab on and used my finger to press it into the holes, the wiped the excess off and let it dry.
