IA>Yellow River State Forest>10/24-26/2014>1st Annual Halloween Hang

    Come One Come All
For no other reason than its a great time to hang in the Hammock. On the 25 there will be a swap meet for we can trade and sell old or DIY gear. So dig around and find that stuff your not really using any more or just lighten that load you carry. The Yellow River State Forest (YRSF) is a great place to hike and camp. Yellow River's backpacking trails were featured in an article which appeared in the April 1996 edition of “Outside” magazine entitled “America’s Top 50 Hikes--The Finest in Every State”. The best hike in Iowa was chosen to be the Backpack Trail at Yellow River State Forest. So don't miss out on this 1st ever Halloween Hang it wont happen again until next year!!! Mark your calendar's now and more details to come.

That's about 3.5 hours from me. Sounds interesting, given I have proper cooler weather gear by then.

About 6 hours from Omaha. Can't commit to it yet but I'll stay tuned.

    Primal,
Where are you planning this in the park? The reason I'm asking is that I'll be over there during the weekend after the 4th.. I'm going to the Guzzi Motorcycle Rally in Elkader and will be wandering all weekend (and hanging at the rally).. I enjoy the "B" roads in the area around the park. Just wondering where you have everything planned? I'd enjoy popping in there to take some photos to help everyone understand the area.. (and it gives me something to do)
