    Jarbridge info.

Last night I spent a cool/cold night camping up in northern Maine using a PLUQ that I had issues keeping in place. I have been looking at the Jarbridge for awhile, and after last night's experience I'm about ready to pull the trigger and order one.

I've read many posts on the quilt and it sounds like a great option. My only concern is with the overall width. I will be using it with a WBBB, and I'm worried that the narrow width will limit the ability to lay on a diagonal. Is this a issue, or am I over thinking this?

I think Shug has a video about that. What doesn't he have a video about!? If I remember correctly, he shows how to adjust a three quarter UQ with a Blackbird hammock. He adjusts so the foot box side is higher than the other side. Check it out. It will help.

Overthinking, just a tad. The Jarbidge was made with the BB in mind. It allows you to still lay diagonal simply by putting the quilt on the hammock at a slight angle.

the suspention slides freely thru the biner on eatch end, ime it lets the quilt pivot with your hammock.

I have used mine for several years with my BB with no problem. I like to use Paul's Triangle Thingies will all my UQs as I find it helps to keep in place.

I am 6ft 2 and weigh in at 275 lbs.

Pictures were taken at Raven Rock State Park NC a couple of years ago. I was one of 3 people at the camp ground that weekend.

Thanks for the feedback. After reading your reply Tree Frog, I did search through some of Shug's videos and found something that discussed getting the UQ positioned correctly for use with the foot box of the WBBB.

Thanks for adding the pictures gunner76. They are very helpful.

I've done some fall camping where the campgrounds are pretty much empty. I enjoy the quiet of the place, but it seems a bit surreal walking around the site with so few people.

Also, according to my measurements, the Jarbridge is 2" longer on each dimension than my no-sew PLUQ

The Jarbidge was the best addition I made to my BB. Only issue I've had is getting a good seal under my legs (6'5" with thin-ish legs, and an ample butt from mtnbiking) but a bit of shock cord attached to the bottom corners and over the ridgeline fixes that so I would also suggest the Triangle Thingies.

I just tried out my new Jarbridge last night. My hammock is an 11' x 64" wide DIY Marpat Camo 1.1. The quilt worked perfectly. Adjustments took about 30 seconds. Easy suspension to work with. Left the ends open when I went to bed cuz it was hot out and cinched them up a bit around 2 AM after the temp had dropped about 15*

Love mine, works great on the BB. The Triangle Things are not required, but really make setup a snap, really dial in the fit and keep the quilt inplace if you toss/turn a lot.
You can't beat the price and I like having a snythetic in my quiver for the wetter or really humid times.
