Taking the plunge into full-time hanging

Greetings everyone! I'm James, and about to embark upon a new life at a new job in a big city (younger guy here, so it seems exciting).

I've decided to forgo the 2 most frustrating socially-instated "necessities" of life: the private vehicle, and the BED. This is in part due to costs of moving, upkeep of vehicle, and having some adventure diving into the city lifestyle.

Recently purchased was a La Siesta Brazilian hammock--made in Colombia--for $70, as well as eye screws, 2 ENO carabiners, and 2 chains of 7 ft each.

In other words, I'm on a mission to eliminate these fake "essentials" and to show the great inconvenience they pose. The hammock seems to solve EVERY PROBLEM that one could imagine with a bed.

So i guess I just wanted to introduce myself, as I've just joined the forum after reading about various hammocks and installation methods. Any extra comments or suggestions are welcome!

    Keep hangin!

Welcome to the forums from a full time hammocker for the last year and a half.

I too have decided to try using a hammock in place of a bed. I can't part with my vehicle, though. It provides too much freedom and mobility. How has your experience been so far in your hammock and is this the first time you've slept in a hammock?
