The Long Trail with a Hammock

Hi friends, did anyone thru hike the long trail with a hammock? Stupid question, but I've been a bit cautious now.
Just got back from Maui where I had a problem hiking Haleakala and a couple other places with my setup.

Should have no problems with a hammock on the entire trail. There are several people here who have done it.

I didn't thru hike the LT, but I did spend a few days hiking the southern end of it in mid-May this year with my hammock. I didn't have any trouble finding a place to hang, and I wasn't the only person on the trail with a hammock. My guess is you'll be able to find a spot to hang pretty much everywhere.

This thread has some first hand accounts of LT thru hikers who report that it was easy to hang the whole way with a little planning: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...016-Long-Trail

Did you have to stop at campsites or just anywhere alongside the trail?

In the northern section they want you to camp at the campsites because of the restrictions of the private lands. The Long Trail Guide tells of these areas. Plenty of trees to hang on though.
