Thinlight Insulation Pad 1/4" Wide...what under quilt is comparable?

Looking at getting my first under quilt after using a Thinlight Insulation Pad 1/4" Wide pad in my hammock. Making the switch for comfort sake. Wondering what temp rating you guys think I would need to replace the 1/4 pad? 40?

    Thanks!

I would estimate that a 1/4" thinsulate pad would be equivalent to a very thin underquilt, maybe something with a 50 degree rating.
If you think you are going to be doing anything cooler than summer camping, you may want to go with a 40 degree rated underquilt or better. The weight and cost isn't that much more.

An underquilt is far more comfortable than a closed cell pad and worth extra cost, but make sure you adjust it to fit properly.
A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.
